Random Thoughts For A Thursday

Do scare tactics work in religious matters? Tuesday’s post touched on this a bit, and here is a link that is a pretty interesting illustration of the point.

Barb and I are heading down to Chattanooga for a couple days. We have not had a vacation in years, so this will fall in to the mini-vacation category. Here is at least one thing we plan to see while there.

I had planned to take part in the Blog Day festivities for my post today, but time was just too short. Maybe I will get a chance later. So for now, take a look at Angie’s Aim.

1 - GREAT DISCUSSION on Tuesday's post. Sorry I missed out on that. By the way, excellent choice of art to accompany this post!!!

I watched the youtube link you referenced (which takes forever with dial up - I thought Jesus might come back before I got to see that clip!). The ominous music at the end really topped it off!

Using fear, even valid fear of things that are sure to come - like death, to me somehow cheapens the sustaining life of love we have in Christ. Not sure why people choose to go that route...

Doesn't work for me, and I WOULD NEVER use that tactic on someone I cared for...

Prayers for safe travels for you and Barb. Enjoy Chattanooga, friends!

P.S. I don't think I've told you lately, but your blog is still top rate in my book. Such consistent thoughts that don't get caught up in meaningless discussions - constantly drawing attention back where it belongs. On our Savior. (Comment this)

2 - As always Angie your thoughts are so appreciated. It is when we "lift Jesus up", that people are drawn to Him. Fear not only cheapens the story, it is often the easy way out. Being Christ and teaching the drawning power of His love takes time, but it also changes more than actions, it changes hearts.

I feel your pain about the dial up connection. Just so happens that today we are getting DSL hooked up! My fast computer at work has me spoiled, so we have to speed things up a bit at home.

God Bless Angie, Barb sends her love. (Comment this)
