Keith Lancaster Resigns As Madison's Worship Minister

Keith announced at the end of second service yesterday that he would no longer be serving Madison as worship minister. While Keith and Sharon had spent much time in prayer and fasting over the decision, it is my understanding that the decision was not made know to anyone ahead of time, not even the elders. In his statement Keith praised the Madison church and its leaders for allowing him to serve as worship minister and that his time there would forever be remembered in a very special way. He stated that it was time for someone else to take his role and lead Madison into the next phase of their growth. Keith and Sharon plan to do a lot of traveling promoting vocal training.

This decision comes as Acappella celebrates its 25th Anniversary and Keith’s newest venture, Durant, a new acappella vocal group, is just now taking off.  Three of Keith’s four children are apart of this new group.

Keith and Sharon are very special people. Being apart of a group that sings at funerals and serving on one of the praise teams has given me the opportunity to know them both up close and personal. Sharon has home schooled their four children and her Christ like spirit can been seen in their personalities.

Madison has always had wonderful singing. Men like Charles Nelson, Ray Walker and Nick Boone served Madison well in the past, but in my personal opinion, Keith not only led well, he took worship in song to a new level.

Keith and Sharon will leave a deep void that will be hard to fill, but no doubt God already has someone in mind and in time we will know who that will be. We wish Keith and Sharon only the best as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.
